José Mourinho has once again been shown the door, but the "Special One" is set to collect another lucrative payoff, taking his career severance total close to £100 million.

The 62-year-old Portuguese coach was dismissed by Fenerbahçe just two days after the Turkish giants crashed out of the Champions League qualifiers to Benfica.

Despite failing to deliver silverware in Istanbul - making Fenerbahçe only the second club alongside Tottenham Hotspur where Mourinho has gone trophyless - the veteran boss is expected to pocket a hefty £13 million compensation package, according to Turkish outlet Fanatik.

The Special One's Sack Payouts

Mourinho's career has been littered with success - but also high-profile exits.

Each dismissal has come with a handsome payoff, making him arguably the most expensive sacked manager in football history.

Here's a breakdown of Mourinho's compensation over the years:
  • Chelsea (2007) - £20.9m
  • Chelsea (2015) - £9.6m
  • Real Madrid (2013) - £17m
  • Manchester United (2018) - £19.6m
  • Tottenham Hotspur (2021) - £15m
  • AS Roma (2024) - £3m
  • Fenerbahçe (2025) - £13m (expected)
That brings his career severance total to an eye-watering £93 million, edging towards the £100 million milestone.

Sacked but Still in Demand

Despite the huge sums involved, Mourinho has never struggled to find work.

From Champions League glory with FC Porto and Inter Milan to Premier League dominance with Chelsea, his CV remains among the best in world football.

Even now, speculation will quickly turn to where the outspoken manager heads next.

With elite clubs often circling when results dip, few would bet against him adding both more trophies - and more sack payoffs - before finally calling time on his career.
