Brooklyn Beckham asked parents to contact him only through lawyers
Reports claiming Brooklyn Beckham sent a legal letter to his parents have shed new light on the depth of the ongoing rift within the Beckham family, with relations said to have broken down so badly last summer that communication was restricted to lawyers only.

Brooklyn, 26, the eldest son of David Beckham and Victoria Beckham, has not been publicly photographed with his family since December 2024, amid mounting speculation of a serious and long-running feud.

According to the Daily Mail, there was an exchange of legal correspondence between Brooklyn and his parents via their respective law firms, Schillings and Harbottle & Lewis.

Whilst no legal action was taken, the letter reportedly requested that David and Victoria refrain from contacting Brooklyn directly or making public statements about him on social media.

No Legal Action - But a Clear Message

Sources stress that the letter had no legal basis and did not initiate formal proceedings.

Instead, it was described as a request following what Brooklyn allegedly viewed as a series of "nasty" briefings about his wife, Nicola Peltz, including suggestions that he was being "controlled" or held "hostage."

One source said:
David was told to speak to them via Schillings. That was the only way for them to communicate.
The move may explain why Brooklyn blocked his parents and siblings Romeo, Cruz and Harper on social media shortly before Christmas, despite them previously engaging with his cooking posts online.

Social Media Fallout and Cruz's Public Intervention

Last month, rumours circulated that David and Victoria had unfollowed Brooklyn on Instagram.

These claims were swiftly addressed by Cruz Beckham, who revealed the reality on his own social media.
My mum and dad would never unfollow their son. Let's get the facts right. They woke up blocked - as did I.
A spokesperson for Victoria later confirmed to PEOPLE magazine that Cruz was responding to inaccurate reports and that David and Victoria had not unfollowed their son.

Nicola Peltz Deletes Beckham Family From Instagram

Fuel was added to the fire this week when Nicola, 31, reportedly removed all traces of the Beckham family from her Instagram account.

Among the deleted posts was a heartfelt birthday tribute she shared for Victoria's 50th birthday in 2024.

The post's removal has now reignited speculation of unresolved conflict.

Origins of the Family Feud

Tensions between Nicola and Victoria have long been rumoured, dating back to Brooklyn and Nicola's lavish April 2022 wedding.

Reports claimed Nicola declined to wear a wedding dress designed by Victoria, instead choosing gowns by Valentino, Christian Dior and Versace.

Whilst insiders suggested Victoria was upset at being sidelined during the planning - with the Peltz family said to dominate the ceremony - Nicola has repeatedly denied any feud.
It's not a feud... No family is perfect.
Nicola later explained that Victoria's atelier simply did not have time to complete the dress, insisting she genuinely wanted to wear one of her mother-in-law's designs.

Romeo, Kim Turnbull and the Final Straw

According to TMZ, the family divide worsened when Brooklyn's younger brother Romeo began dating British model and DJ Kim Turnbull.

Brooklyn reportedly questioned Turnbull's motives, a move said to have further strained relations.

Since then, Brooklyn has missed every major family event, including his father's milestone 50th birthday celebration, which was attended by A-list guests such as Tom Cruise, Gordon Ramsay and Guy Ritchie.

'Over' - But Not With Everyone

Sources claim Brooklyn has told friends his relationship with his parents is "over," though he remains close to both sets of grandparents.

A source told The Mirror:
Whilst things between Brooklyn and his parents are over, he is still very fond of his grandparents. There is a lot of love there, and that has never faltered.
Despite the silence, insiders insist David and Victoria have not given up hope.

Another source said:
David and Victoria will never stop trying to secure a reconciliation. He will always be their son, and they will always live in hope.
For now, however, the Beckham family feud shows little sign of easing, and the request to "talk to my lawyers" stands as the most public indication yet of just how fractured relations have become.
