Premier League: Aston Villa 5-2 Burnley

Aston Villa are still on course for a Champions League place thanks to a 5-2 thumping over struggling Burnley at Villa Park.

Burnley, with just one point on their travels this season, took a shock lead on 10 minutes when the unmarked Steven Fletcher slotted home, but Ashley Young's deflected shot levelled matters after 32 minutes.

The visitors then collapsed in the second period as Stewart Downing drove home on 56 minutes and the England winger then saw his shot deflect off Danny Fox and past Brian Jensen two minutes later.

Then goals from Emile Heskey and Gabriel Agbonlahor cemented the points and ended a barren run of one win in seven league games.

In added time, Martin Paterson added a second goal for Burnley, which slipped closer to relegation trouble.
