Napoli maintained their challenge for Champions League qualification with a hard-fought 1-0 home win against spirited Catania at the Stadio San Paolo.
Defender Paolo Cannavaro scored the only goal of the game in the 50th minute after the Catania defence failed to clear an Ezequiel Lavezzi cross.
