Serie A: Palermo 4-3 Inter Milan

Monday, September 12, 2011

Gian Piero Gasperini's reign as Inter Milan coach got off to a nightmare start as they suffered a dramatic 4-3 defeat at the hands of Palermo.

Diego Milito put the visitors ahead in the 33rd minute before Fabrizio Miccoli equalised shortly after the interval.

Milito added his second in the 51st minute from the penalty spot, but Inter's joy was shortlived as Abel Hernández pulled his team level shortly after.

With the game tied 2-2 with five minutes remaining, Miccoli fired the hosts in front with a superb free-kick before substitute Mauricio Pinilla made it 4-2 two minutes from time.

New Inter striker Diego Forlán reduced the deficit deep in stoppage time but the Rosanero held on for victory.
