The Viola paid €8 million to sign the 25-year-old from Spanish club Almería last summer, but the his valuation has now shot through the roof after his impressive performances earned him his first Brazil cap.

The holding midfielder, who has a buy-out clause of over €20 million at Fiorentina, was called up by Seleção boss Carlos Dunga for the friendly game with Italy and is regarded as the long-term successor to the former Arsenal player Gilberto Silva.

Chelsea, Aston Villa, Juventus and Lyon have also inquired about his services.
