Inter Milan restored their seven-point lead at the top of Serie A standings with a comfortable 3-0 win over last-place Reggina at the San Siro.
Esteban Cambiasso, who paired with Nelson Rivas in central defense due to defensive injury crisis, put Inter ahead after just six minutes when he chipped the ball over Reggina goalkeeper Christian Puggioni following a delightful Dejan Stanković flick.
Rock-bottom Reggina were effectively finished after 10 minutes when Carlos Valdez was adjudged to have fouled Mancini inside the area and Zlatan Ibrahimović calmly beat Puggioni from the spot.
The visitors were fortunate not to concede a third eight minutes later when Ibrahimović somehow missed the target with a bad shot having been played in by Mario Balotelli.
The Swede came within inches of atoning for that error within 60 seconds when he sent a shot off the post after taking a pass from Davide Santon.
Ibrahimović finally grabbed his second of the night and his 19th of the season, equaling the league leading scorer Bologna's Marco Di Vaio, with a delicate chip shot in the 58th minute.
Inter could even have added a fourth with 10 minutes remaining but Sulley Muntari just failed to get on the end of Balotelli's inswinging free-kick.

AC Milan can almost certainly now write off their Scudetto hopes as they now trail leaders Inter Milan by 14 points with nine games remaining following a goalless draw against Napoli at Stadio San Paolo.
Milan had been looking to stay in touch with second-placed Juventus but they were unable to break down Napoli's resistance.
Napoli, who collected just three points from their last 10 matches, had a valid goal ruled out for offside in the first half. Marek HamÅ¡Ãk was onside when he flicked on Marcelo Zalayeta's goalbound header from five yards, as Andrea Pirlo was keeping him in play.
Zalayeta squandered a golden opportunity to score on 64 minutes as the Uruguayan miscalculated an Ezequiel Lavezzi pass and volleyed wide with only Dida to beat.
David Beckham almost snatched a late winner but Nicolas Navarro just about got his stoppage-time free kick under control at the near post, as it squirmed out of his grasp.
