Serie A: AC Milan 0-4 Inter Milan

Sunday, August 30, 2009

Reigning Serie A champions Inter Milan produced a stunning performance to beat city rivals AC Milan 4-0 at a packed San Siro.

Thiago Motta fired the Nerazzurri in front after 29 minutes and Diego Milito made it 2-0 with a penalty seven minutes later.

Any chance of a fightback receded when Gennaro Gattuso was sent off for a second bookable offence five minutes before the break and Inter capitalised on their numerical advantage.

Just before halftime, Maicon raced down the right, played a quick wall pass with Milito and effectively sealed the result by shooting low past Marco Storari.

Dejan Stanković then put Inter 4-0 ahead with a stunning long range effort in the 67th minute.
