Fernando Torres found the net three times as Liverpool thumped troubled Hull City 6-1 at Anfield.

Torres opened the scoring after 11 minutes before Geovanni drew the visitors level four minutes later.

But there was no way back for Phil Brown's men after Torres restored Liverpool's lead in the 28th minute.

The Spain striker completed his hat-trick two minutes into the second half before being replaced by Ryan Babel in the 67th minute.

Steven Gerrard curled home a stunning fourth on the hour mark before a late Babel brace completed the rout.
