Juventus sporting director Giuseppe Marotta has revealed that he dreams of signing VfL Wolfsburg striker Edin Džeko, although he admits that it will be difficult.

The Bosnia international has been linked with a summer move away from Die Wölfe and has reportedly attracted the interest of several European teams including AC Milan, Chelsea and Manchester City.

Džeko has been coveted by many of Europe's top clubs ever since his 26 league goals in the 2008/09 season fired the unfashionable Wolfsburg to the Bundesliga title.

"Džeko is a dream that is not going away," Marotta told Corriere dello Sport.

"He is a target that we will continue to follow until it is possible. We are aware of the challenge we have in order to acquire him.

"The price set by Wolfsburg is high and the other clubs that want him have more resources than we have.

"But it’s nice that Džeko expressed his pleasure at the prospect of Juventus being an eventual destination. It means that the appeal is still strong."
