Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente scored an absolute belter in a 3-2 victory against Manchester United in the second leg of their Europa League tie at San Mamés.
United travelled to the Basque Country hoping to overturn a 3-2 deficit from the first leg at Old Trafford, but they were never close to qualifying for the next round as they are thoroughly beaten by Marcelo Bielsa's side.
And the hosts took the lead on the night with a stunning goal from Llorente after 23 minutes.
A simple long ball over the top from Fernando Amorebieta exposed Rio Ferdinand, and Llorente finished expertly on the volley past David de Gea.
It was the least Bilbao deserved after proving their first-leg triumph was no fluke and meant United had to score at least three times to go through, something they did not capable of.
