VfB Stuttgart have one foot in the Champions League group stage after a 2-0 win over Romanian side Politechnica Timisoara.
Stuttgart went ahead in the 28th minute when Timo Gebhardt tucked away a penalty after Ciprian Marica went down under a challenge from Timisoara goalkeeper Costel Pantilmon.
Barely two minutes later Stuttgart increased the lead as Aliaksandr Hleb weaved his way past four white shirts before flicking the ball low past Pantilmon.
