One Direction boys enjoy kick-about at Camp Nou

Wednesday, July 9, 2014

On Tuesday, The Camp Nou received a visit from pop group One Direction, who are in the region for the latest leg of their "Where We Are" world tour.

Two members of the boyband, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan, were welcomed into the Camp Nou presidential lounge by Dídac Lee, the director of the Media and Communication Department and manager of New Technologies.

The pair were then presented with official strips with their names on the back before heading out onto the pitch for a kickaround, stopping on the way to take pictures in the first team locker-room.

The visitors enjoying the Camp Nou Tour were thrilled to enjoy this additional treat, and furiously took pictures, applauded and even sung some of the group's most famous hits.

"It was incredible to walk onto the pitch," Horan told Barcelona's website.

"I have been here a few times before, and it's nice to be back. This is one of the best stadiums in the world, and it was incredible to get the chance to walk out onto the pitch.

"The best players, for me, are Neymar and (Lionel) Messi."

Tomlinson added: "It's fantastic to watch Neymar.

"We all obviously love Messi, but it's also fantastic to watch Neymar play. What a shame he's injured. He's a brilliant player."

The band members also signed a shirt with the name of the group, which will be used as a prize for a Barça Fans draw.

Lee said: "For a global club likes ours, to be visited by a global band like this, with millions of followers on social networks, is very good news.

"These things help our club, especially on an international level."
