Manchester United stalwart Ryan Giggs admits that Sir Alex Ferguson has been "the biggest influence" on his distinguished career.

The reigning PFA Player of the Year is one of the most decorated players in English football history, with eleven league titles and countless other accolades to his name.

However, the 35-year Welshman insists he would never have been able to achieve so much were it not for his manager.

Giggs told United's official website: "Sir Alex has been the biggest influence in my career. He's watched me play since I was 13 so it's been over 20 years.

"I watch him closely, the hunger and desire to keep improving and not just settle for a couple of trophies. Each season he takes up the challenge and wants to win more."
