Nicolas Jackson is refusing to fly back to London after Chelsea sensationally pulled the plug on his loan move to Bayern Munich at the last minute.

The 24-year-old striker touched down in Germany on Saturday to undergo a medical ahead of a season-long switch, only for the Blues to cancel the deal following Liam Delap's hamstring injury in the 2-0 win over Fulham.

Bayern had agreed to pay a £13 million loan fee with an option to buy for £56 million next summer, and Jackson was all smiles when he arrived in Munich to finalise the transfer.

But, just as the medical was due to take place, Chelsea reversed their decision and ordered the forward to return to England.

Jackson Determined to Stay in Munich

Despite Chelsea's stance, sources close to Jackson in Senegal claim the forward is furious at the situation and has no intention of flying home.

His entourage, including former Fulham striker Diomansy Kamara, publicly hinted the deal is far from dead as he posted on Instagram:
We're not going back. The plane does not go backwards.

Bayern Munich Respond

Bayern sporting director Max Eberl admitted to Sky Germany his club were left blindsided.
Chelsea have informed us that they want the player back after we reached an agreement yesterday and [had permission] to conduct a medical.

Now the situation is that the boy is in Munich and we have to send him back. That's the current state of affairs, but I can't look into the future.

We have 48 hours left. This isn't a situation we could really plan for, but we'll try to find a solution.

Chelsea's Striker Crisis

Jackson, who joined Chelsea from Villarreal for £32 million in 2022, was deemed surplus to requirements following the arrivals of João Pedro and Delap this summer.

But Delap's hamstring injury, expected to keep him sidelined for up to eight weeks, has forced the club into a U-turn.

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca revealed the injury could change Chelsea's plans.
When you have two strikers, it's enough. When one is injured, it probably is not enough.
Chelsea had already loaned out 19-year-old Marc Guiu to Sunderland and sold Christopher Nkunku to AC Milan, leaving Pedro as the only fully fit striker.

What Happens Next?

With Jackson still in Munich and refusing to back down, Chelsea face a stand-off just days before the transfer window closes.

Bayern are open to renegotiating - possibly even on a permanent basis - whilst Jackson's agents continue to push for the deal.

For now, the Senegal international's future remains up in the air.
