Arsenal moved above third-placed Aston Villa on goal difference following a 1-1 draw with Burnley at Turf Moor.
The home side started the brighter of the two sides, but the Gunners took the lead after eight minutes when Cesc Fàbregas capitalised on some comedy defending from André Bikey and Clarke Carlisle.
Bikey, though, redeemed himself in the 28th minute when winning a penalty after being clattered by Thomas Vermaelen, allowing Graham Alexander to once again make no mistake from the spot.
