Premier League: Chelsea 1-2 Liverpool

Monday, November 21, 2011

Liverpool beat Chelsea 2-1 at Stamford Bridge to condemn the Blues to their first back-to-back home defeats in the Premier League since May 2002.

The Reds took the lead on 33 minutes as Charlie Adam robbed a dozing John Obi Mikel before releasing Craig Bellamy, who played a one-two with Luis Suárez before finding Maxi Rodríguez to slot home.

Chelsea equalised 10 minutes into the second half when some weak Liverpool defending allowed Florent Malouda to put in a cross-shot which was tapped home by substitute Daniel Sturridge at the far post.

But former Blues defender Glen Johnson scored the winning goal for Liverpool three minutes from time when he brought down Adam's raking cross-field pass, nutmegged Ashley Cole, and drove goalward before slotting into the corner.
