La Liga: Getafe 4-3 Sevilla

Monday, April 26, 2010

Sevilla's chances of Champions League football suffered a blow as they were beaten 4-3 at Europa League hopefuls Getafe.

Adrián González put Getafe ahead in the 17th minute before a swift double from Luís Fabiano and Frédéric Kanouté put Sevilla in front at half time.

Getafe levelled through Pedro León just before the hour, but it took Sevilla just two minutes to restore their lead when Fabiano rounded two Getafe defenders before beating Jordi Codina.

Getafe coach Michel threw on Manu in the 73rd minute and with his first touch of the game the striker hauled Getafe level, firing home Adrián's pass.

Kanouté was then red-card for a second bookable offence with five-minutes remaining, before Getafe grabbed the winner in stoppage time as Daniel Parejo fired home from the penalty spot.
