Hatem Ben Arfa has declared his Olympique Marseille career all but over as he attempts to force through a move, with Newcastle United eager to snap up the French international.
The 23-year-old has refused to train with the team this season as he eyes a move away from Stade Vélodrome, despite having played 34 minutes of the opening Ligue 1 against Caen.
"I will not return to La Commanderie (Marseille's training ground). It's over," Ben Arfa told L'Équipe.
"I am ready to not play this season. I have my pride, my dignity. I am not a make-weight.
"I am not just a sack of dirty washing or a piece of shit. I will do what it takes and I will organise myself to train physically.
"Over time, people will see that I was right. Just because we are paid does not mean we are slaves."
