Premier League: Stoke 1-1 Man City

Wednesday, February 17, 2010

Manchester City are back in the Champions League positions despite being held to a 1-1 draw at 10-man Stoke City.

The Potters were firmly on top in the first half before defender Abdoulaye Faye was sent off on 53 minutes for a foul on Emmanuel Adebayor.

A Glenn Whelan strike then squirmed under Shay Given to give Stoke an unexpected lead in the 72nd minute.

City hauled themselves level five minutes from time when Gareth Barry pounced on Adebayor's flick-on, hit the post with his first effort and scrambled the rebound home.
